Procrastination

We are often pressed by society, right? Appointments, meetings, projects, clearly and rigidly set dates, for everything and anything. Never stopping to take a deep breath, to let it all naturally flow according to how nature wants it.

Then why is it that despite how strict and fixed and cold we’re taught to act, and manage time, we still fall down the rabbit hole of “procrastination”? Why do we still catch ourselves wasting precious time doom-scrolling through social media and although we’re well-aware of it, we do nothing about it?

Something truly hard to swallow is how much we depend on what society thinks is a “perfect pattern” just so that we throw away our smallest bit of individuality, of personality, of originality.

We’re perfect, right? We have an admirable routine, we maintain a healthy diet, we poison our bodies with unnecessary amounts of “health” and make-up products, our hair is the color, style and length we want it to be, our closet has every article of clothing we’ve ever dreamt of, isn’t it? So absorbed in what the latest influencer ate, bought or where they travelled, that when we check our screen time, we’re “shocked” by the long hours.

We need a good reality check. And I mean it. Someone needs to give us a good shake, realigning our thoughts, because the time we’re losing we’re not getting back. It’s a one-way ticket, we leave it but never get it back. We just sit, watch it fade into the distance, catching one last glimpse of the freedom we had and willingly let it disappear.

You don’t need a guide or a pattern to follow to manage your free time efficiently. Just divide it how it fits you best, and there, you just formed your personalized pattern to avoid procrastination and enormous time loss.
