Hell in California

At the beginning of the year 2025, there had been a huge fire in Los Angeles that caused the death of several people and the destruction of so many people’s homes. The long draught and heavy winds caused little by little of the dried up plants to light on fire. Many people expressed their opinions on what could have caused such a huge draught and, eventually fire, but who is actually right?

Some people said that it was God punishing us, others that the mafia was behind it and some individuals even went as far as to claim that a direct energy weapon was fired upon L.A. The truth is, none of these assumptions are true. It is all because of climate change. All these sudden changes in the Earth’s atmosphere are a direct cause of pollution. Did you know that the people in the East of The United States have been experiencing the harshest winter recorded in the past ten years? Have you heard about the huge hurricanes that killed 300 people in America, or perhaps you have noticed that we have not had a good day of deep snow in Arad in a long time?

People choose to blame other things, so as to forget that what is happening is 100% because of us. Humans refuse to take accountability for what they have wronged. You need to stop ignoring these problems and start fixing your mistakes. ChatGPT needs nearly ten times as much energy as a Google search query, which means that it also emits a lot more carbon. Because of your usage of single-use plastic, hundreds of turtles, wales, seals, sharks, manta rays and many more animals die every single year. It is your constant purchases of unneeded make-up and clothes and shoes and cheap jewellery that ends up being thrown into the ocean, left to rot.

The bare minimum is to stop using ChatGPT. There are so many apps that could replace it if you just gave the minimal effort to look for them. Moreover, you do not need new clothes every week just like you do not need fifteen shades of pink blush or a new pair of shoes every single month. Stop giving in to every micro-trend and be your own person. You are not going to drop down dead if you use a reusable cup or straw. It is time every single one of us starts taking care for the planet. Remember, climate change manifests as a series of disasters viewed through phones with footage that gets closer and closer to where you live, until you are the one filming it.
